San Francisco Art Institute + A.A.

Founded by Ansel Adams in 1945, the SFAI's Photography Department was the first program of its kind dedicated to exploring photography as a fine art medium. Adams attracted fine photographers for the original faculty, including Dorothea LangeImogen Cunningham, and Minor White, and Morley Baer, who became Head of the Department after White's departure in 1953.  (quote from wikipedia article referenced below)
